The Pines sits just outside and a short drive to the seaside town of Mundesley with its coveted blue flag sandy beaches and colourful beach huts, there are several useful shops in the village including a post office, and tourist information centre, with free parking although a small donation in the box provided to the RNLI would be much appreciated by those connected to the lifeboat service, it is all run by volunteers.
There is a very picturesque 9-hole golf course in Mundesley and a driving range, and then just short drives away from Mundesley are the Golf courses at The Royal Cromer and Sheringham, the latter being a beautiful site when the steam train makes its way along side the golf course going to or coming from the Georgian Town of Holt with its plentiful shops and antiques, café’s and pubs.
Also a brilliant Tonsorial Artist (Barbers) in the centre of town.
There are fishing sites locally one at Gimingham walking distance from the house, and one at Roughton a short drive away, and horse riding stables in the area but booking is necessary in season
There are also plenty of lovely walks or cycle rides along the quiet Lanes network in Mundesley and surrounding areas, and maps can be bought from the local tourist information centre, or Local Council Offices.
There are several Historic houses to see and they all have refreshment facilities and beautiful gardens to walk around.
One garden in particular comes to mind every time, and that is The Old Vicarage at East Ruston, a must for all visitors a real sight to behold. more...
